Buckley resumes his manipulations of the mayor. Merriweather maintains pressure on Penelope into selling her father's factory.
After seeing Mai Ling enjoy the Long Zi expansion in China town, Young Jun questions his father's direction for the Hop Wei, and looks at a solo venture that will strengthen their Tong.
The police raid Chao's shop. Chao and Ah Toy come to a mutual understanding. Leary blows up a factory warehouse. Senator Crestwood ratches the anti-Chinese sentiment at a rally for his presidency bid by using Mayor Blake as a pawn.
Sophie sparks Leary's interest. Officer Lee searches for laudanum a hallucinogenic painkiller to offset his lingering head trauma. Penny seeks Ah Sahm's protection for her factory workers, only for him to decline.
The deal with Happy Jack goes sour. Bill and Lee look into the financial records of Ah Toy's business partner Patterson in hopes of finding the swordsman.
Chao visits his daughter. Ah Toy receives a visit from a past foe. Ah Sahm agrees to help Penny. Rosalita offers Ah Sahm stiffer competition.
Chao gives Ah Sahm a stern warning. The Mayor threatens to cancel the city's contract with Penny if she refuses to get rid of her new security.
Patterson tells Ah Toy he's begin to have his reservations about their partnership. Mai Ling tells Zing not to impede on Long Zi business and cautions him on the consequences.
An awkward encounter has Bill rethinking his role for the Fung Hai, and tells Zing, he's done and paid his debt.
Ms Davenport hosts a dinner for the social and political elite. Zing asserts pressure on Chao. Father Jun brings in new recruits from China to the dismay of Young Jun.
Sophie and Leary strike up a romance. Officer Lee's investigation gets a little too obsessive. Chao asks Mai Ling to intervene with his dispute with Zing.
The Fung Hai pays Bill's family a visit. Lucy and the kids leave Bill. Bill confesses to Lee about his involvement with the Fung Hai.
Sophie and Leary escalates their romance. As the police force ready to raid the Fung Hai, Chao makes a mutually beneficial agreement with Bill.
Young Jun stands up for Hong. Buckley urges the Mayor to continue his anti-Chinese stand. Mai Ling and Ah Toy meet. The Mayor spins the assault on Bill, with the news media.
Ah Sahm and Leary, wage a war of words in front of the Mercer factory. Nellie Davenports visits Ah Toy brothel, to emancipate one of her workers who chooses to leave.
Nellie invites Ah Toy to come to Sonoma. The Mayor and Penny argue about the current politics surrounding the Chinese and their involvement.
The Mercer sisters' quarrel come to boiling point. Mai Ling checks in with her informant Nichols. Sophie hatches a plan to blow up her father's factory with Leary.
Ah Toy offers a safe haven for Officer Lee. Chao asks Ah Toy for a favour. The fire bombing of the Mercer factory has unanticipated consequences.
Li Yong senses conflict in Mai Ling. A shocked Penny examines the remnants of her father's factory only to find out Ah Sahm has betrayed her.
Bill rallies the troops as he attempts to justify the raid with Lee. Chief Flanagan addresses the fire bombing with Leary.

Kenneth Lin. Bill is beaten by Pinkertons led by his old friend, Jack Damon, who were hired by the Fung Hai Tong due to his large gambling debt he owes to the gang and is warned to pay back the debt in three weeks.
Ah Sahm and Penelope fall for each other and begin an affair. Lee's opinion on Bill becomes worse due to Bill constant lies and accepting a bribe from Ah Toy to not arrest her girls during a surprise police raid at her brothel.
Mai Ling has a meeting with the head of the Fung Hai for an alliance, but he refuses to talk to her due to her gender so Mai Ling kills him by poison.
His successor Zing agrees to work with her. As Buckley spreads anti-Chinese propaganda to the press, Mai Ling tells Ah Sahm to go back to China as not only he is a thorn in her plans but there's gonna be war between the Tongs.
Kevin Tancharoen. The stagecoach driver informs the passengers, the horses are weary forcing them to stay the night at a saloon owned by a interracial couple, a former Chinese coolie and his white American wife.
During their stay, Young Jun falls in love with Wankeia, the saloon's Native American prostitute, despite the language barrier between the two. The saloon is latter robbed by a gang of cowboys led by Harlan French, but Harlan is forced to flee after Ah Sahm and Young Jun fight and kill his gang.
Ah Sahm discovers that the dead body was used by Father Jun to smuggle gold and was Harlan's real target. Knowing that Harlan will want revenge after he brings the rest of his gang, Ah Sahm and Young Jun work together with the saloon owners and the surviving passengers to face them.
Later that night, Harlan's gang attack the saloon only to be killed by its defenders.
