For a brief synopsis with no spoilers the film starts off with the Punisher taking out a mafia family, but one of them survives and this leads into the plot for the rest of the film.
The film doesn't have much of a plot and the story is very loose for the rest of the film. It does pay homage throughout the film to the comics and has a lot of great action but outside of that the film doesn't achieve much else.
Also this film is very gory, I'd compare to Rambo in a lot of respects. My main gripe with the film outside of the plot is the cheesey over the top acting which works in some films but in this one it's a detractor from enjoying the rest of the film.
